Company History
Gala was founded by Helmut & Ursula Pultar in 1969. Upon finding a suitable location to run their business from, the founders began operating at 222 Taren Point Road Caringbah which is where the business still operates today.
Since the beginning of the business the founders concentrated on the reupholstery of lounge and dining furniture, manufacturing of upholstered furniture, custom manufacture of upholstered furniture, for domestic applications.
Gala's successes, although due to many reasons, would most likely be due to Helmut & Ursula having provided the best service to their customers from the very first contact, all the way through to the finished product. The finish of the item has always been admired by the tradesperson carrying out the work and the customer alike. Helmut and Ursula always believed in providing these service at reasonable prices. Quickly through word of mouth and reputation of craftsmanship Gala grew to be one of todays foremost Upholstery factories in Sydney.

Gala Upholstery Today
Ron Pultar along with Heidi Pultar (two of Helmut & Ursula's children) now run the business and continue the high standards of the business philosophies, today.
Ron has many awards and trade achievements from his apprenticeship in upholstery and further industry achievements, which include:
Highest passing Apprentice - Year II 1986
Highest passing Apprentice - Year III 1987
'Apprentice of the Year for Upholstery' in New South Wales - 1988
Completion of Apprenticeship with Distinction - End of year 1988
Part time Teaching of Upholstery at Sutherland Shire Regional Evening College - 1996 - 1999
Contracted to write a DIY Book about Reupholstery for Murdoch Books - 'Better Homes & Gardens' -
Released in February 1999
